Joe Killinger (Co-Founder)

Joe Killinger’s expertise in commercial real estate investment, leasing, property management, rehabilitation, and entrepreneurship has been developed over the past 20 years. During that time he has been personally responsible for the sale or marketing of over 6,000 assets resulting in over half a billion dollars worth of transactions throughout the United States.

During the mid 1980’s Joe personally invested in, rehabilitated and developed single family homes in Southern California. When the real estate downturn of the early 1990’s hit, his expertise in construction and repositioning took him to Kennedy-Wilson, Inc. growing auction division.  There he oversaw all aspects of the auction of numerous portfolios of distressed assets, from property evaluation, to marketing, to execution and closing of the escrows. In 1993 Mr. Killinger and Mr. George Pino applied their expertise to launching The Sands Group, the Real Estate Auction division for Fred Sands Realtors. Joe’s responsibilities included: Hiring and training of new sales agents; initial contact of potential clients; market analysis of property; pre-auction due-diligence work; selection of subcontractors and vendors; oversight of Title contractor; oversight of Escrow contractor; management of auction staff, including on-site agents, telemarketing agents, and support staff, and oversight of closing staff. During their tenure through 2001, Joe was personally responsible for the sales of over 1,300 properties totaling over 81 million dollars and, impressively, averaging an unprecedented closing rate of 96%.

In 1995, while at The Sands Group, Mr. Killinger and Mr. Pino started O.P.M. Investments, LLC, a real estate holding company and Outside Property Management company. Then in 2002, the two co-founded Learning Links Centers, LLC, an innovative Socially Responsible Real Estate Investment Company, geared toward investing in large, urban working class neighborhoods and providing educational opportunities for their residents. To date, Learning Links Centers has acquired 7 buildings, totaling more than 472 units. 2002 also saw Joe and George join DBL Realtors to start their commercial division. After the acquisition of DBL by Sotheby’s International Realty, he and his partner George Pino, recognized the need for a boutique commercial brokerage company that had its Client’s Best Interests in mind. Commercial Broker’s International (CBI) was then formed in January 2006 as a culmination of that passion to deliver a full service commercial brokerage.

Mr. Killinger was born and raised in Nebraska, where he attended the University of Nebraska
